When going back to all my ledger entries I had written I noticed that this ceramic class has taught me a lot. From day one to now I have versed to do so many things in ceramics and learn reformative everyday life skills. When reading back to the first hebdomad of ceramics I could see how little I knew about ceramics and how uninformed I solidly was. I did not know how to effectuate any of my mistakes I made while creating a flip-flop. I did not even know what slip was or how to expenditure it yet. Reading some of the second and third week journal entries I saw that subsequently a few demonstrations from our professor I was able to use the slip and even make up up walls now. I remember feeling so accomplished, about like I was ready to build anything. When it came time to real complete our first ceramic piece I was excited.
For this piece we were allowed to choose to make what ever we wanted as yen as we told our professor about it first and showed her a subject field of it in our sketchpads. I chose to make a vase for my mother. I eyeshot at first it was not going to be fleshy but I would soon realize later in my journal entries just how challenging making a vase is. I started off by using the techniques I was shown to build up the vase.
When it came time to glazing I chose a nice blue glaze because I knew my mom would like it and it went with my b separately seen colors real nice. I realized that sometimes when you make pieces they do not always come out the way you planned them. I also realized that it is okay and you can work roughly it. Some of my mistakes I actually liked better because my preliminary sketches that I drew. Instead of worrying about repair them I worked them into my piece. Learning how to deal with this was a crucial classify of having great problem solving skills. I think after each piece my problem solving skills got better each time.
