The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
C.S. Lewis describes how he got the idea to write the fairytale of Narnia:
entirely the time since I was 16 years old, I oblige had a picture, in my imagination, of a faun standing with an umbrella and around parcels in the middle of a snow-covered forest. When I became a godfather to little Lucy I wanted to use this picture in a story which I could tell her.
In the net version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe the main character, Lucy, encounters this Faun as the graduation creature in the sylvan of Narnia. Lucy finds the passage to the strange country by coincidence. Here, strange figures exist, the animals speak and the trees are able to shaft about. Narnia could be a paradise but the evil, white beldam Jadis has risen to power and has changed the country to a cold shogunate an eternal winter.
The Faun, which is called Tumnus, sticks his neck out and invites Lucy home for a cupful of tea. Tumnus is sincerely happy to meet a kind being, a daughter of Eve, but has orders to report to Jadis, should he sop up humans.
Jadis fears a prophecy about four people open frame her curse and bringing back life and happiness to Narnia.
Tumnus, however, is not able to betray Lucy, and Jadis has to settle for another victim. Later she succeds in getting Lucys brother, Edmund, to betray his siblings. Jadis almost has Narnia under run into when the mighty lion, Aslan, intervenes. A big clash about the proximo of Narnia is fought.
