James Langston Hughes, born in Joplin, Missouri on February 1, 1902, is renowned for being one of the nigh prolific and influential writers to emerge from the Harlem Renaissance (Bloom). The Harlem Renaissance was an inviolate part of the Civil Rights Movement because it cultivated many expectant minds and empowered a multitude of different individuals that would bring the hire of Afri bed Americans to the nations attention in an eloquent, non-threatening manner. corresponding Martin Luther King, Langston Hughes also had a dream: The American Dream. Growing up as an African American proved to be difficult at measure for Hughes, creating a common bond with other African Americans targeted by excessive racism during the 1900s.
