Philip II of Macedonia

world power Philip the II of Macedonia lived from 382-336 BC. Philip ruled Macedonia from 359 until his death in 336 BC. King Philip is also well known for being the father to Alexander the Great and Philip III.
Early in his life between 368 and 365 BC, Philip was a hostage of the Greeks at Thebes. It was because where he observed and study the military and diplomatic strategies that would aid in his later shew to power.
While in power during 358 BC he do the decision to reclaim North West Macedonia from the Illyrians.

Upon supremacy he had gained power over wealthy gold mines which then helped finance many of his future wars. Some of his following victories include wars with Crenides, Potidaea, Pydna and Methone.
