According to Stats Canada in 2010 at that place were over 500 shelters offering services for abused women.
4,645 women in total were staying in these shelters many of them brought children. (apporxiamately 2 children per woman)

Over four hundred women are move away because of capacity issues.

66% experience emotional abuse ( name calling, violent threats, seclusion)

- drug/alcohol dependency
-mental health issues
-unable to give away affordable housing
