The Office of Technology delight and Business Development (OTTBD) recognizes the importance of commercializing our technology in hallow to bring new medicines, medical devices and diagnostics to the health boot community and ultimately to the patient. OPL has a critical role as liaison between UMDNJs administration, faculty, scientists, clinicians and the private sector. The OTTBDs varied role includes providing reenforcement for translational research, managing all university intellectual property, supporting new startup companies and facilitating partnerships with biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical devices companies worldwide. I am employed by UMDNJ and work in the medical part of the University which has many diverse departments that house clinical trials for their different specialties. I am now working in the Neurology department where research is critical for neurological problems. There are many different clinical trials being developed all the time, but the main clinical development that seems to get the least recognition is Multiple Sclerosis. Research is critical for this disease to find the root cause and to cause and stop the progression and the effects of the disease and actually bring back it.
