Personal statement

Many school leavers search for sponsorships to further their education. Typically, to qualify for sponsorship in an institution, you will be required to submit your personal statement. Since many of the sponsoring bodies are research-oriented, sometimes the applicant may be asked to write a research proposal to accompany the application and his/her personal statement. The idea here is to assess how serious and focused the person they are sponsoring is. Applicants must thus understand that it is mandatory to portray themselves just as that.

A simply-done personal statement that does not fit in with the organization’s core values and mission would definitely be rejected. Therefore, the personal statement as well as research proposal must be drafted only after the individual has fully understood the mission and objectives of the organization. As much as is possible, the personal statement must be tailored such that the personal objectives match the organizational goals.

Conversely, the research proposal must be one whose purpose is congruent with furthering the objectives of the organization. The research proposal has to suggest that the end result will help the organization in achieving its mission. There is a common confusion between a personal statement and a resume. Unless a distinction is made, an applicant for sponsorship is likely to miss the chance due to an unconvincing personal statement.

In such cases, essay help should be sought for both personal statement and research proposal. The research proposal should be written after a thorough research of the internal environment of the firm. As already mentioned, the research proposal should be in alignment with the core competencies and policies of the organization. The applicant must thus identify the weaknesses of the organization, and consequently design the research proposal in a manner that suggests possible solutions to these weaknesses.
