The Life of Ambrose of Milan
A perform return was an early writer in the Christian Church who formulated doctrines and religious truths. One of the major church fathers during the ordinal century was Ambrose of Milan. Ambrose was the Bishop of Milan and was also the front Latin church father from a Christian Family. He often gave the majority of his possessions to the poor, and infallible social justice from the Christians. During his life, Ambrose contributed significantly to the settlement of the Nicene Orthodox, and he also helped defend the Churches authority in regards to the state.
St. Ambrose was born about 339 in what is now France, to Aurelius Ambrosius, the Roman prefect of Gaul. There is a legend, that during his infancy, a swarm of bees settled on his face leaving a drop of honey behind. His father saw this as a sign of his future eloquence. Following his fathers footsteps who died early during Ambroses life, Ambrose embarked upon a career in law and politics. By 370 AD, he had  receive the Imperial governor of Northern Italy.  When the Bishops role in Milam became vacant in 374, the people demanded that Saint Ambrose be do their bishop.



  The neighboring bishops and the Emperor convinced him to accept this call as the will of God, and so the catechumen Ambrose was baptized and ordained first deacon, then priest, then bishop, all in a iodine week.
Ambrose was profoundly aware of his lack of preparation for this great responsibility. Because of this, he devoted himself immediately to prayer and the study of Scripture.  His deep otherworldliness and love of Gods Word combine with the skill acquired in law and politics made St. Ambrose one of the greatest preachers of the early church. 
Because St. Ambrose dedicated himself to prayer and scripture, he wrote several works which are notwithstanding available today.
