Similar to Antigone, Holden is not accepting of the phonies in his society and stands up for what he believes in. Due to the idea of phonies in the world, Holden runs away from his prepare and creates a different life so he is not forced to fit into the stereotypical group of people. He goes against a way of being and shows readers his hatred for the uniform society. Holden sees the world categorised into two kinds of people: adults who are arrogant and fake, and children who will short fall into the conformity. Therefore he feels that it is his job to stop these children forrader this occurrence.
