Foreword
This material in this booklet originally appeared as chapters 1-8 in: J. Sparsø and S. Furber (eds). Principles of asynchronous circuit design - A systems perspective Kluwer Academic Publishers, 2001 (ISBN 0-7923-7613-7). The writing of this textbook was initiated as a dissemination effort within the European Low-Power Initiative for electronic System Design (ESD-LPD) as explained in the acknowledgements.
